We use advanced brain imaging techniques to understand the interactions between brain function and blood supply in the healthy brain and neurological disease.
Ongoing projects in the lab also include the development and evaluation of neuroscience knowledge translation activities and using freely-available databases to attempt to replicate existing brain imaging studies.

Congratulations to our current and former lab members who were recognized for their achievements at StFX's Spring 2023 convocation:
Congratulations to Chloe Oleksiuk, who received summer research funding via a Scotia Scholar Award from Research Nova Scotia. Chloe will be working on a project to share the relationship between concussion history and dementia risk with athletes. Her project is co-supervised by Dr. Erin Mazerolle and Dr. Sebastian Harenberg (Human Kinetics, StFX).
The Mazerolle Lab was awarded a Canadian Foundation for Innovation grant to establish neurovascular imaging infrastructure at StFX! A functional near infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS) system will be combined with respiratory gas delivery and measurement equipment. We'll use this new gear to study brain changes in conditions such as concussion and dementia. Read the story here.

April 25, 2022 - Erin, Conor Barker, and Family Service in Mi'kma'ki were awarded MITACS funding to support an intern researching neuroscience knowledge translation strategies for addressing housing instability.
March 31, 2022 - The VAScular Cognitive Impairment Training (VAST) Platform was funded by CIHR! Erin is a member of the leadership team, along with Eric Smith (nominated principal applicant), AmanPreet Badhwar, Bojana Stefanovic, and Steffany Bennett. See the story here.
